Hi! I got bored so i decided to right a story. mEH FIRST STORIES SORRY FOR ERRORS BYE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Chapter 1

The strange child

I sat on the edge of Misty Lake looking out into the flowing water. I looked at my legs dangling from the water, kicking the cool, crisp water making it scatter. I let out a big sigh. It was such a peaceful evening. Goosebumps went up my spine at the cool fall air hit my skin. I looked up at the purple, yellow, red, and orange colors in the sky dancing around the low-laying sun. I closed my eyes and cleared my mind. This was a good place to get refreshed and relaxed.
A harsh, rough voice interrupted my peace.
"Helena!" My dad yelled in his scolding tone making me jump.
"Yes," I responded my voice sounding very hoarse. My dad sighed.
"You know you can't be out this late, remember you're only 11," He reminded me. Sure, I knew that I wasn't suppose to be out this late, but I never bothered to listen.
I sighed as well. "Yes father,' I said in a dull voice. Dad motioned his arm toward him, signaling me to come over. I walked over there, the small leaves and twigs crunching and snapping as i walked.
"You know I love you darlin'," Dad said giving me a kiss on the cheek. I gave a nod.
As we walked toward the house, I listened to the sounds of nature. I listened to the wind blowing hard, almost like whistling, the leaves rustling, the sounds of the water flowing. To everyone, this was just regular, everyday sounds, but to me it was like an outdoor performance, each day had new sounds and pitter-pattering in store. I looked up at my dad, his skin had turned white to brown from working on the land. I laughed to myself.
"What?" My dad asked looking at my strangely.
"Nothing," I chuckles
" Now Miss. Helena Pat Carter, I demand you to tell me what's so funny!" He yelled sounding like a five year old wanting his candy. I smiled.
"You know Momma is never gonna let you in that house looking like that," I said. He looked at his skin, and gave a hearty laugh.
"Oh she's just gonna have do deal with it now isn't she," Dad grinned.
"Yup," i said looking down at the ground, then slowly rising my head up at the sky.
When we got home, of coarse I got a mouth full from Mom.
"Where have you been, I told you to come home at 5:00 SHARP and blah blah blah!!!!!," I zoned out. All I did anyway was nod and say mmhm to whatever she said. About 1,000,000 year later, she finally stopped talking!
"Thank god!" I thought outloud. Mom gave me a very mad look while mad look while my dad slipped on a grin.
"What was that young lady!?" My mom yelled.
"Oh uhh I meant thank god that you gave me that speech about staying out late, it really informed me that I should always listen to what you say," I lied.
My mom grinned then walked away to cook dinner.
-----------After Dinner------------
It was about 8:00p.m. when we were done eating, and since I'm "so young" I have to go to bed.
"Goodnight sweetie," My mom said kissing my forehead. She walked away to her bedroom.
"Night honey," My dad said giving me a big hug. He then joined my mom in their bedroom.
I listened to the slow flow of the wind pounding on my window. I wish I was out there, my brown hair flowing in the wind, and my green eyes gaping at the lake. Oh how I wish it was so.
"What are we gonna do with her!" I heard my mom yell. I'd better check on them to see if they're okay. I stood outside their door and leaned my ear against the door.
"She's just so different," My mom signed.
"I know," My dad agreed
"She must have been messed up when she was born," My mom complained
"She's so obsessed with nature," My dad said.
"She's just......," My mom thought a moment
"Strange," My parents said in unison.
"Yeah, Helena was definitely a BIG mistake," My mom said
My dad laughed, "Couldn't have said it better," He agreed
" I can't believe we HAVE to put up with her," My mom burst out laughing.
"We can always have another kid," My dad pointed out
"Just NOT like her," My mom and dad said in unison then laughed together.
Fine. If its me they don't want, its me they won't get.
I put on a long sleeved green shirt, brown pants, and my cleats. I grabbed my brown backpack and took the first-aid kit, food, plant book, tent, water, and a sleeping bag and put it in my backpack. Lastly I went to my dad's toolshed, and took the bow and arrows (luckily my dad taught me how to hunt) and ran into the forest. The darkness surrounded me. The forest swallowed me up. The tears stung in my eyes as I ran. My vision was blurred as I ran. I didn't dare look back and the only thoughts in my head where 'Why me? Why me............'
