Friendship (I and my (old) Bestie

A year ago, I met an American friend who became my best friend. She is younger than me, just like my younger sisters. She belong to a broken family, her mother mom and dad got divorced and that's what made us met. (We actually didn't met personally). Since the day we became friends, we always chat and share about life. She is a great person and I really I admired her. Even though she has lot of problems, she's still used to smile and laugh. She always talk to me, ask for some advises when she's in too depression, until we became best friends. We even planned to go to different places after we graduate in college. Last summer 2011, she and her mom planned to have a vacation here in my place but due to some circumstances it never happened. But I really don't know the reason why they failed to come here. Her mom already bought a ticket, but well... you wont know what is going to the future (her mom committed suicide that I didn't even have the chance to talk to her. I and my best friend got into a fight (it was not actually a fight, it was just a misunderstanding) before she died and even told me that "Time will come I'm going to win (friendship)". Just last November 2011 everything went back to normal. We exchange messages through facebook, but we arent friends on facebook. I even have too much questions in my mind that I wanna ask her, but I can't coz it seems that she's trying to avoid/ignore it. Do you think we will still like before? I even told her that. But she didn't answer me.. I'm so confused with this friendship anymore..
