Your Inner Rebel {Original Story}
Chapter 1
Good Girl
I held the phone up to my ear as I stood out in the cold night air. I was the girl who stood outside her home, parents long gone, talking to her boyfriend. Alex was his name.
We were supposed to be on a date tonight. Everything was planned. We were supposed to go to the movies, and then back to his place so I could meet his parents, but he's yet to pick me up. I slowly started to grow weary and called him. That’s what we were currently speaking about.
"I'm sorry." He apologized. "Something just came up."
I kept myself from rolling my eyes at him. He couldn't have called earlier instead of making me wait for almost an hour outside? I thought it was going to rain as well as I stared up at the thunderous sky.
I let out a sigh before saying, "Well, I'll see you on Monday then."
"You're not mad?" He questioned.
I tried to smile. "Not at all. I'll call you later."
We exchanged our goodbyes before hanging up. I turned around and started walking back up to my house. Before, I was standing in the front yard on the sidewalk. Now that I knew I wouldn't be seeing Alex's black Chevy speeding through my neighborhood, I locked myself back in the house and went up to my room.
I opened my white door and took off my pink high heels, kicking them off to the side, and putting them back in their box. I glanced at my full length mirror before fully facing it.
I frowned and twirled in my pink dress. The poufy bottom flared around me as my blonde hair had done the same. My cheeks were pink because of the coldness of the night, matching the light color of my sleeveless dress. I pushed a strand of hair behind my ear and sighed.
Was there something wrong with me? Did Alex not like me like he had only three months ago? As I though this, I gripped the ends of my hair that led down to my chest.
"Things'll get better soon." I tried to reasure myself, though doubt was clear in my blue eyes.
