Chapter 1
~Human~ Isabella~
I was running along the sidewalk with my headphones in and music blasting to get my heart pumping and adrenaline going. 19 years old, I was looking for places to move into or at least stay for a bit. Everyone turned me down saying no or they were full. Maybe I wasn't looking in the right places. I slowed down my pace and soon came to a graceful walk. I was in the park, the green grass full and beautiful and the trees talk and surrounding. I was breathing heavy, but my breath soon came to a stop. I gasped and ran towards the bloody body on the ground. It was 8 in the morning and people were just beginning to swarm into the popular park. I took out my phone and quickly dialed 911. The body lay nearly lifeless, except for the few breaths he had taken. I crouched by him.
"It's going to be okay" I whispered. I heard the sirens blaring and a small groan from him. He looked to be around 20 maybe 21, his hair was matted with blood. It looked like he was attacked by a bear a deep gash was in his shoulder. And it looked like he was bit on the hip. The wounds seemed to be healing quickly which made me a little uneasy. His blue eyes opened quickly and he shot up almost hitting me with his head.
"You..." He said frantically hurrying to his feet as if nothing happened. I looked at him confused and stood next to him. The sirens wailed getting much closer.
"You called the... damn it" He said breaking out into a full fledged sprint in his ragged clothes.
"Wait!" I yelled running after him. I ran into the woods not thinking just wanting to find the mysterious boy who pretty much healed himself. I ran until I realized I didn't know where I was going. I stopped breathing heavier than before. I placed my hands on my knees and searched the place, I didn't know which way I came from so I sat. I took out my phone and searched for a signal, none. I started to curse and kick things. I heard some rustling in the trees. The boy who ran from me was back in new clothes and the blood was washed off.
"How?" I asked.
"You can't tell anyone" he said coming closer.
"I know this is a bit soon but do you have a place I could stay?"
"Um..."
"If you know any place at all please let me know, I won't tell anyone" I said begging.
"Yeah you can stay with me and a friend for a bit..yeah it'll be good for us all"
"Awesome. So how do we get out of here?" I asked. He shrugged and started to walk, I followed and as little as ten minutes we were on a back road I often took for bike rides.
"What happened to you?" I asked continuing to walk a few paces behind him.
"It's a monthly cycle, just well I met another one of me who was in the woods"
"Another one of you?" I asked, He blew his brown hair out of his face.
"Yeah, a werewolf." My eyes opened wide and I shivered at the thought.
"Where is he?"
"Eh somewhere he's fine I barely touched him," He laughed. "Oh and before you room with me and a friend, remember my friend isn't well human, and nor is my other friend"
"Alright, as long as I'm not on the bottom of the food chain" That really got him laughing.
"Oh trust me you are" I rolled my eyes and realized we were already nearing my apartment that I couldn't afford to pay rent on.
"I'm going to go run and grab my stuff"
"I'll help" he said. I realized I hadn't asked his name. We grabbed my already packed suitcases, and a few things here and there that I hadn't managed to shove in my 3 suitcases, backpack and purse.
As we walked out I gave my key to the woman at the front desk and walked out.
"By the way what's your name?" I asked.
"Eli, my other roommates name is Liam, what about your name?"
"Lillabeth, but you can just call me Lilly" I Smiled.
"Okay, uh were here" He said stopping in front of the old abandoned house I didn't think anyone had occupied since at least the 1930's. Now that I actually looked at it, it looked as if some housekeeping was being done. As Eli pulled out the keys and unlocked the door. He opened it slowly.
"HONEY I'M HOME!" He yelled. And soon snickered after.
"We've got a guest." He said in a normal voice. A pale, muscular guy, I guessed was Liam, approached me with hesitant blue eyes. He looked almost exactly like Eli, but a smoother face and darker hair. He looked at Eli and walked away. Eli shrugged and beckoned me forward. I was nervous and a bit shaky. I was already having many second thoughts...
