Complications( a damon salvator love story)
Chapter 1
loath at first sight
Thu-thump. Thu-thump. Thu-thump. The only thing I could hear was the rapid beating of my heart, and my short breath. My body was numb all over from the cold rain and climate. Thu-thump. Thu-thump. Thu-thump.
I stummbled over my feet a few times. But that wasn't what got me. As I focused on running away, I tripped over a stick protruding from the ground.
The man I was running from got closer, and was within arm's length. Thu-thump. Thu-thump. Thu-thump. He put his mouth. No, his fangs down to my neck and bit down hard. Then darkness.
My eyes snapped open right as my alarm clock sounded. My heart was still speeding. I smacked my alarm until the obnoxious beeping ceased. I let my head fall onto my lap, and sighed.
"Juliette! I heard your alarm clock! Get your freaking grass up!" My father yelled at me from downstairs.
'Wonderful' I thought, getting out of bed. I got dressed: a tank-top with flare jeans. Then I ran a brush through my long blonde hair. Then I went to the bathroom and put on my eyeliner and mascarra. I didn't usually put make-up on over the weekend. But I had the feeling I would need it.
I crawled downstairs, and automatically went to the kitchen for my car keys. But my father was in the kitchen and had them in his hand.
"Can I have my keys?" I asked him a little bit impatient.
"No. I told you that you're grounded. I wasn't joking around. What am I? Your little pushover?"
I took a quick look at his eyes. He was drunk. Figures. I didn't even remember him grounding me.
"Dad. Give me my keys, please." I held my hand out for them.
"I said no!" He exclaimed, accidently throwing the keys passed me. When my father got drunk, he was incredibaly unpredictable. I had to be careful around him. But I guess that day he was just in an odd mood and dropped the keys.
I picked them up and walked out the door and into my car. I put the key in the ignition and listened to the car's engine roar to life. I pulled out of the driveway and drove away.
The leaves on the trees were falling all over my car. I was gazing at them. But then my phone snapped me back to reality. I picked it up.
"Hello?" I asked.
"I can see you, Juliette Babcock." A voice said mysteriously back to me.
"Who is this?" I was panicking a little bit.
There was no answer. I hung my phone up and threw it in the back seat. As I turned back to the road, a man appeared infront of my car. I slammed on my breaks, but I heard a loud, unsettling crack from outside.
Once my car finally swerved to a hault, I rushed outside. There was a man standing by the rear of my car dusting himself off. But that couldn't be the guy I just hit. I was going at least 50 miles an hour. He couldn't have gotten right up.
"How about you watch where you're going you crazy bit-" he spun around and stopped dead in his sentence.
I crossed my arms. "Heh, sorry." He took my hand, and pressed his lips to it. "I'm Damon Salvatore. And you are?"
I pulled my hand away from him. "Julie."
"The pleasure is yours. Well. I have to meet my brother in the park. I'll be sure to see you again Juliette." I turned away for a second. And when I turned around, Damon was gone.
