I'm writing a new story for a competition and it involves a school that has people in it!! (cue gasp) and I NEED CHARACTERS!!!
This is mainly for you guys because I know how much you want to create some characters :)

Jack is a perfectly ordinary kid. Well,other than the fact that his house randomly burnt down, his uncle went missing, he has no idea who the hell his mother is and you can't forget the parting gift his father left with him! A pamphlet advertising a school called 'Northvale Academy'. Seeing as this is the only place that is 'eligible' for him to live now, Jack is sent of to this 'school'.
At first it's ordinary enough. Like any other school he's been too. He makes friends with a boy named Tristan and his twin sister, Laurie. But then his discovers its not.
Everybody in the school has a 'super power' kind of like the ones superman has or the XMen but only one.
He learns soon enough that everybody in the school, including him, are 'half bloods'.
Northvale is actually a school built around a portal leading to the 'other world'. The 'other world' is dying and to please it's god of fate the other beings had to breed with humans and sell their half blood children as sacrifices to the god of fate but no one in this acdamey knows that. Once this children reach the age of 17 or 19 (Grade 12), they will be sent to the other world to die.
Sarah was Laurie and Tristan's best friend. She's now 18 and Laurie is dead worried. She has one of the most valuable powers, Persuasion but she clearly hates the school with a passion.
Students who have the most powerful power are elected on the 'SRC' to keep the school running or in other words, make sure the sacrifices don't escape. They sold the lives of others to make sure they survive. The ones who object or reach the age of maturity are taken as sacrifices.
A prophecy foretold of a warrior who's power was nothing but probably the most powerful one of all
Jack has to balance school life as well as developing his powers.
The more useless the power, the harder it is to find the child. Jack was found when he was 16 so he's pretty useless.
One day, Jack finds out the horrible secret Northvale is hiding. He's scared. He's terrified.
But what will happen when the school discovers that Jack's useless power of nullification is actually pretty useful after all?

Heyy! Zay is awesome and she's exactly what I've been looking for in a character! I want to know if you'd like her to be a very important character in this story because she has the power of 'sight'. I was going to make a character who was about the same age of Zay and had the sam power as her but no one would believe her prohecies. Could this be Zay? (In other words, could she be born with the 'Cassandra syndrome'?)

I could't find the defention of nullification online so I'll just give to all of you who are wopndering what the hell it is
Nuliication is the power to get rid of other powers, like if someone could turn invisble and Jack was in a 30cm radius with them, they wouldn't be able to turn invisble. If someone could shoot fireballs, Jack would just touch them and here powers would vanish for the amount of time he's touching that person :)
