Chapter 1

MOO! Chapter 1

I was finally in Hogwarts. I loved this magical place, and most of it's inhabitants, excluding Slytherin. And also, excluding a certain Fred and George Weasley. Oh sure, when I was 11, and we were all going into our first year, they were fantastic! The most likable people in the Wizarding World, in my opinion back then. And they had an amazing sense of humor, too. I've grown up with them since we were babies. My mom, Savannah Arkelly, is friends with Mrs. Weasley. And my dad is into Muggles just like Mr. Weasley. As you can see, they make great friends. So we always hang out with the Weasleys. Until the journey on the Hogwarts Express, coming back home from first year. Sure, I knew they liked to play pranks, and most of the time, I had no problem with that. But on the way back home, they played the ultimate prank. They played the prank that severed our friendship.
HOGWARTS EXPRESS, COMING BACK FROM 1ST YEAR
I laughed with Fred and George. They were telling some jokes, and as always, they had the best sense of humor EVER. So, I had a bit of a crush on Harry. I know, I know, I'd only known him for a year, but back then I was love struck. I told Fred and George, since I trusted them with everything. Never in my life would I imagine, even now, that they'd do something like that. Anyways, they kept exchanging evil grins, and I thought it was just another prank until George made the mistake of glancing at me. I looked at Fred and George exchange another grin, and narrowed my eyes at them. "What's going on?" I asked them. Fred face palmed. "George!" He said indignantly. "What? I didn't tell her. She just guessed." They both simultaneously sighed. I stared at them. Suddenly, the commotion started. It was in the cabin where Harry, Ron, and Hermione were sitting, in the front of the train. And it was also where everyone was guaranteed to hear whatever was going on. I glanced at them, containing sly smirks, and ran to the front of the train. Harry had been sent a Howler. It shook, and suddenly opened- in Fred and George's voice. "GUESS WHAT, HARRY? SAGE LOVES YOU! SHE TOLD US!" Harry stared, open mouthed, at the Howler. He slowly turned his head to me. I tried to make it seem like a lie, but my hair and eye color revealed my true feelings; bright red- embarrassed. The fact that my face was a red as a tomato didn't help, either. My feelings suddenly changed as Harry stared at me, clearly in horror. We were best friends before, also. (Luckily, Harry didn't mind, and over the years, I stopped crushing on him.) I thought that was over until Harry took a deep breath and nodded at me. My hair and eyes turned dark red, and my fists clenched as everyone in Gryffindor started laughing at me. I looked around, and everyone except Harry, Ron, Hermione, Ginny, Neville, and Luna was laughing. I stormed to the compartment where Fred and George were rolling around laughing. Tears formed in my eyes, and I ripped open the door. They looked at me, suddenly fearing what I would do. First, I pummeled them, punching every bit of them I could. After they both had broken noses and black eyes, I hexed them with the Bat Bogey Hex. With the adrenaline pumping in me, I was momentarily better than Ginny at it. I screamed at them, "FRED AND GEORGE WEASLEY, YOU BOTH WILL BE MY SWORN ENEMIES EVEN AFTER I DIE!" They both stared at me, bats on their faces, black, swollen eyes and bloody, broken noses. They looked absolutely terrified. I still don't regret it. When we got to Kings Cross, I didn't say a word to them, but somebody had fixed their black eyes, nose, and Bat Bogey Hexes. Turns out it was Lee Jordan. I decided to sever ties with him, too. We pretended nothing happened with our families, but from that day on, I vowed to never be friends with Fred and George Weasley again.
FIRST DAY OF 4TH YEAR
I sat in the middle of Harry and Ron, with Hermione next to Ron. Unfortunately, Fred and George sat across from me. They had been trying to be friends with me again for 3 years. "Hi, Sage," they said. I glared at them and my hair and eyes turned light blue; ice. They looked fixedly at their plates. I looked towards the front of the Great Hall where Dumbledore was standing in front of the podium. He began his speech after the mob of first years were stationed in front of him. "Welcome, new students, and hello to old ones. I will begin the speech after Sorting." The Sorting Hat opened its "mouth" and sang,
"A thousand years or more ago
When I was newly sewn,
There lived four wizards of renown,
Whose names are still well known:

Bold Gryffindor, from wild moor,
Fair Ravenclaw, from glen,
Sweet Hufflepuff, from valley broad,
Shrewd Slytherin, from fen.

They shared a wish, a hope, a dream,
They hatched a daring plan
To educate young sorcerers
Thus Hogwarts School began.

Now each of these four founders
Formed their own house, for each
Did value different virtues
In the ones they had to teach.

By Gryffindor, the bravest were
Prized far beyond the rest;
For Ravenclaw, the cleverest
Would always be the best;

For Hufflepuff, hard workers were
Most worthy of admission;
And power-hungry Slytherin
Loved those of great ambition.

While still alive they did divide
Their favourites from the throng,
Yet how to pick the worthy ones
When they were dead and gone?

Twas Gryffindor who found the way,
He whipped me off his head
The founders put some brains in me
So I could choose instead!

Now slip me snug about your ears,
I've never yet been wrong,
I'll have a look inside your mind
And tell where you belong!"

Professor McGonagall stood by the Sorting Stool where the Sorting Hat was set on. She unraveled a gigantic roll of parchment and began. I was already fuming just from seeing Fred and George's face, so from the time when Alcor, Lucy was sorted into Gryffindor to when Zurces, David was sorted into Hufflepuff I had worked myself up into a lather about how mad I still was about them. For some reason, every time I thought of them, I not only had flaming red hair and eyes, but I also had a bright, thick streak of aqua in them, under most of my hair, to where nobody could see it, but I sensed it. I didn't understand it, but every time it happened I felt a bright, thick streak of aqua mixed in with my feelings, too. I couldn't quite put my finger on it, though, because all I mostly felt was anger. I had learned by then to just push it aside, of course, but there was still that rattling sense of curiosity to it. Finally, Dumbledore began his speech. "Again, welcome new witches and wizards, and hello to the old ones. This year, we have a bit of a...surprise. Yes, this year, Hogwarts is hosting....THE TRIWIZARD TOURNAMENT!" There was a roar of applause and cheers from the whole school. I myself was cheering. Dumbledore quieted us down and explained the rules of the Triwizard Tournament. "Glory, fame, victory, and 1000 Galleons await the winning champion," Dumbledore concluded, "However, since there has been past deaths in the tournament, only of age students will be allowed to compete or even put their name in this Goblet." There were screams and boos of protest. Dumbledore used a spell to enhance his voice, and yelled, "SILENCE!" The whole Great Hall went as silent as a grave. He said, "I must warn anybody who has any ideas that I have put an Age Line around the Goblet so that only of-age wizards or witches can put their name in. You have been warned. Anyways, let's eat!" I sighed with relief as the mountains of food appeared on the gold platters. I piled hills of mashed potatoes, steak, porkchops, and bacon on my plate. Yeah, I'm a meat maniac. I got 3rd helpings before I was totally full. I yawned and went to my dorm. The password was 'Triwizard'. I smiled as I drifted to sleep, glad to be at Hogwarts at last.

Okay, guys and girls, this is the LONGEST CHAPTER I have ever made, and that is excluding the song. I usually limit myself to about 20,000 characters, and on a good day I will write maybe 19,700 characters. I have set a record for myself, which I will tell you after I am done typing this junk which nobody reads. So thanks for sticking with me through my blundering stories. Any feedback would be VERY MUCH APPRECIATED. So my official character number is 16,727.
