Playing Games (A Hunger Games Twist)

Years ago, there was a dark time. People rebelled. The leaders brought on a new era with peace, but there was a price. Every year, the people of Panem would give up a girl and a boy to the brutal fights of the Hunger Games. All 24 "tributes" would kill until there was one left. In the first four districts, those children were prepared. They waited for it. It was an honor to be in the Games. They worked for the Capitol; the Capitol kept them close. They were the "rich kids." People called them Career Tributes. They trained for the Games. They trained to kill.

You and I both know the story. The story of Katniss Everdeen, girl on fire, rebel against the Capitol. She was caught in a love triangle.

She wasn't the only one.

“Cato! Cato! Cato!” The crowd was chanting for him. No, it’s okay. Forget little Clove all alone on stage. I scoffed as he pumped his fist and came to stand by me. This kid bothered me from day one. He was made for the games, a true killer, and he knew it. He knew his strengths and believed he had no weaknesses. He was extremely arrogant. I hated it.

And that’s why I loved him.
