Chapter 1

Intro

"Wendy dear, try to get home as soon as possible after your classes. I'll have a chauffeur wait right outside of your school to come bring you home," I heard my dad say from outside my bedroom door.

I rolled over in my bed, still sleepy and lazy. It got boring after a while, going to school to study medicine like my dad did. I was the youngest and felt like a trophy to my dad. He was a wealthy cosmetic surgeon in Hollywood and my brother didn't bother following his footsteps. It wasn't fair. I admit 100% that I was jealous of his ability to not care about what my dad thought about him wanting to be a marine biologist. My mom on the otherhand, was a retired model and a "stay at home" mom, which she was terrible at. http://www.polyvore.com/cgi/set?id=46163185 I have never ever seen her step foot into the kitchen and prepare a nice homecooked meal. All the cooking and cleaning was left for the maids around the house. I didn't like it.

And the house...my gosh. I felt like I lived in a museum. http://www.polyvore.com/wendys_house/collection?id=1445659 Everything was too perfect and precise. Just the way my dad liked it. And there was nothing happy about the place! My room was even boring. I don't think that if someone stepped foot inside of it, they'd be able to tell that a girl lived in it. Except for maybe the few cookbooks I had hiding underneath my bed and my iPod deck.

That was my one secret passion: cooking. I loved it.

If I was brave enough like Will, I would have dropped out of school and gone to a culinary school instead. Something about the way different spices and flavors could be so different yet alike when cooking, made me awestruck. What I really wanted to do one day was own my own restaurant somewhere cool, like in England. I could be the next Nando's or something!

Instead of daydreaming about my future, I got up from bed and went to my bathroom to get ready for today, which I was kind of excited for.

Tonight my dad was going to throw a masquerade-themed ball and invite all the famous people he knew to come over and celebrate some big news he said he wanted to surprise me with. I wasn't excited about his surprise or anything, just the ball. It might be nice having company over and bringing life to this boring place.
