Chapter 1
The Journey
The sky was dark as I neared Camelot. I could just barely see the outline of the castle looming ahead. Even in the dark it looked majestic and full of adventure and promise. This was as good a spot as any to set up camp. The trees provided just enough cover in case of rain. As I sat down my bag to get out the blanket I heard a rustling sound in the bushes.
"Who's there?" I called into the night. If I was expecting an answer I was sorely disapointed. All I could hear then was the wind. Pushing the feeling that someone was watching me away, I lay down on the ground and slept.

"Quiet you idiot! You'll wake her up!" a voice shouted in the darknes. With that I sat bolt upright. What the heck? That was I saw them. Two men, one that was tall and most likely in charge and another who could have easily blended into any crowd. Before I knew it I was tied, gagged and thrown into the back of a wagon.
"Search her bag," the man who appeared to be in charge said. "There has to be something worth a fair price in there." The man turned to me and grabbed my chin, "She looks to have some fight in her. We could have fun with this one." his grimmy fingers trailed along my arm, he yanked the gag out of my mouth and pressed his knife against my throat. "Will you scream for me girl?"
"Will you get out of my face?" I replied in a calm voice. That was when I spotted his sword. I brought my knees to my chest and kicked out with all my force. My magic, which I as trying to hide, made him fly even farther back into a tree. His acomplice backed away and turned around. I used my magic to get the ropes off and went to check on my attacker. He may have wished me harm but I needed to make sure he wasn't dead. I couldn't have that on my concience.
Luckily his pulse was fine. I took his sword so that he would never use that particular one to harm any one. I couldn't risk him telling anyone my secret so I cast an enchantment to make him forget he ever met me. With that I gathered my bag and set off for Camelot once more.
*
Camelot was even greater than I imagined. The lower town was bustling with activity.Everywhere people were buying and selling goods, chatter was constant. form the corner of my eye I saw a boy and an old man gathering suplies. The boy seemed to be talking to the old man in a hushed and urgent tone. I couldn't stop gazing at the boy with dark hair and blue eyes.
"Merlin!" a boy with blonde hair cried out, "Where have you been! My armor needs polished now!"
"Yes, Sire." The dark haired boy replied. I didn't know what it was about this boy but I felt drawn to him. One thing was for certain, I would see this boy again. I could just feel it. I turned away to prevent him from catching me staring. Merlin. The name stuck in my head. This boy was special, I just knew it.
