Has Anyone Heard of the "Salem Witches Institute"?
I really don't know if it's real, but it sure is interesting :D enjoy this maybe true information
Chapter 1
The Salem Witches Institue
So some of you may be wondering what the heck this is, so the first thing I'm going to tell you is this: Warning: I seriously don't know if this is true. I haven't read Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire in a while, so I don't exactly remember if this was included in it. So today, I was on Dear Blank Please Blank, and the following message was posted:
Dear Americans awaiting their Hogwarts letters,
Please note that since you live in America, it is much more likely that you would be attending the Salem Witches Institute.
Sincerely, someone who read the 4th Harry Potter book.
So, my question is, has anyone ever heard of it? Apparently it was in the Quidditch World Cup chapter, but I sincerely don't remember that, but then again, it's been a while since I last read it. Well naturally, I got interested in this American School, so I did some research and here's what I found. Again, This could be purely a fanon, so please don't get mad at me if it's not true, just thought it would be interesting
-It too has 4 houses and they all kind of match up with the Hogwarts Houses. They are:
Young- Chivalrous, brave, and courageous. They would match up with Gryffindor. There house color is gold.
Jones- Kind-hearted, loyal, a good friend. Just like Hufflepuff, but their house color is pink.
Hibbins- greedy and unconscious mind. They're like Slytherin, but their house color is silver.
Glover- wise, and have high ideals. They would be the Ravenclaws. Their house color is violet.
- Instead of a sorting hat, they have The Ring of Choice. The student puts on the ring, and it turns the color of the house they belong in.
-They have all the same classes as Hogwarts
-Their years go like this:
1= Bottom Feeder or B.F. (12 yrs old)
2= Scrub (13 yrs old)
3= Freshman (14 yrs old)
4= Sophmore ( 15 yrs old)
5= Junior (16 yrs old)
6= Senior (17 yrs old)
-Their main sport is called Quodpot, and their side sport is Quidditch
-Their motto is: amat victoria curam or victory favors those who take pains
-It's houses are named after witches who were killed in the Salem Witch Trials
-It started as an all girls school, but was changed to co-ed. However, even now, the majority of students and teachers are female.
- It's located in Salem, Massachusetts
So those are some facts I just learned. I think it sounds pretty cool, even if it might just be made for fan-fictions. I got all this information on wikipedia and such. Here is a link to one of the websites I searched.

Woah that seems really cool :D
Well, since I can't go to Hogwarts I might as well look for Salem's.
me too :)
could you write a fanfic about it?
To be honest i really don't like real, witchcraft. I enjoyed the harry potter books, but in reality, if i want to see dead people or talk to spirits i can do it on my own with out witchcraft. I believe in God, and God is not dead like the church, God is alive And yes i have Seen a dead brother of a friend of mine, as well and the son of a friend of mine who drowned in the pool. :( its sad that people turn to witchcraft to seek the spirit world, when its right here waiting for them to break threw
This sounds amazing. I wonder if they get there by train like hogwarts. : )
Oh I forgot to put that in. The website said that the students arrive at the closest town and then take a short train to the school directly XD
yes i remeber reading something about that an dit makes more sice an dim almost positive its not only for witches
and also as pluto is grand said the dead are all around us we just have to want to see and help them wow my last post my key board messed up so sorry what i said was that i remeber reading something about it and it most def makes more since lol sorry my comp was being gay lol :) and i would most def love to go there lol :)!!!!!!!!!!!!!! who wouldnt
Most of what you found is fanon, but the Salem Witch Institute is an actual canon magical school. However, it's an all-girls school. :)
Wait... I'm a girl! I can go? Yes! Gotta add that to the list of things to do when I visit my grandmother who lives there. :P
Oops! I didn't mean to reply to your comment and spam your inbox, Deary!
Deary? I meant Lizzy. My motherly/grandmotherly side has officially taken over.
Yes, I fully realise that replying again is only making it worse... Again, oops! Didn't meant to!
Oh no! The voice inside my head is telling me that I subconsciously just wanted the attention.
I just realised that I'm also spamming the author of this lovely story. Sorry! Genuinely! On the bright side, though, how often is it that you get to see an insane person talk to herself in comments? Good day, ma'am!
