Sweet Summer Opposites

Sweet Summer Opposites

Ryder Landon has always been quiet, never wanting to stand out. But one day at the amusement park can change that all. Because of one special boy, and another she's always loved.

Chapter 1

Roller Coaster

"IT'S SO HOT!" Demi groaned as we waited in line for the roller coaster. "Thanks for stating the obvious Demi." I said, pulling my hair back and fanning myself. "We just had to come today." Demi whined, throwing daggers at Jason, our friend since elementary who convinced us to come out in 90 degree weather to the amusement park.

"Hey, would you rather be home or here having fun?" He asked, "I'd rather be by the pool." I said, sliding my sun glasses down to my eyes. We moved further up the line, which was getting closer to the entrance. "Will we ever get there." Demi kept whining, "almost." I stated.

"Dude she's hot..."

I turned around, curios of who was speaking. Fours guys and three girls stood behind us in line. "Who man?" The one in the red hat asked, "the girl in the blue tank top." Another boy wearing a black tank top said. I don't know why but I was interested in this conversation. I turned back around, trying not to make it obvious I was listening. "Na man, her friends hotter." I looked to my left, where a girl in a blue tank top with long blond hair and her friend stood.

I rolled my eyes. Typical. The blonds are always hot, I on the other hand had brown hair. At this point I wasn't so interested in this conversation. We were now standing by the gate entrance to the roller coaster. "I call Jason." Demi perked up, "what?" I practically yelled at her, "I don't want to sit alone." I yelped. "You got him last time." She stuck her tongue out, linking arms with Jason. I glared at her.

This is why you never come to an amusement park with an odd number of people.

Great! Now I have to sit alone in a seat. I sighed, the lady opened the gate letting us in. Jason and Demi took the fist seats. I sighed again, slumping down in the seat by myself, an empty seat stood next to me. Who'd want to sit with a
total stranger anyway?

"Can I sit with you?"

I spoke too soon.

I looked up, one of the four boys waiting in line behind us stood above me. I mentally groaned, sliding over a seat to let him in.

There stood a silence between the both of us. As I glanced I noticed how good looking he was, curly brown hair and a soft looking face. Nicely structured. We took off, going up the roller coaster tracks. "My name's Zander." He said, turning to face me. I glanced at him once again and turned back to face the tracks. As every silent second passed we got closer to the top where we would drop.

The roller coaster made a stop, before I could say my name, we dropped. I let out a scream, holding on like I would die.

We went through drops and loops, I could hear this so called Zander screaming next to me. The entire ride I held on for dear life. Never in my life have I been on a roller coaster this big. As it slowed down to a stop, I took a deep breath of relief. "So what was your name?" He asked, I looked at him. Putting on a small smile, "it's Ryder." I responded, getting up from my seat and walking towards Demi and Jason. "Now that was amazing!" Jason said, a grin on his face. "I thought I was going to die." I stated, "same here." Demi followed. He laughed, throwing his arms around the both of us.

"What ride shall we go on next?" He asked, "How about we eat first?" I suggested, "sounds good to me." He said. We walked to the food court, ordering three burgers and sodas with a basket of fries. One thing the three of us had in common, was the fact that we all loved food. Very. Very. Much.

I took a bite of my burger, "I just don't get it." Demi said, taking a sip of her soda, "he told me he was gonna call. And the he doesn't!" She yelped. I rolled my green eyes, "Demi." I said, "he just wants to get in your pants." I finished, sipping my soda. "No he doesn't!" She cried, "I think he really likes me." She smiled to herself, once again I rolled my eyes at my clueless best friend.

Demi is pretty, really pretty. She's got the whole package, short blond curls, bright blue eyes, big boobs, nice behind, perfect skin! It'd be a guys dream to get in her pants, but she's so oblivious to it. She could get any guy in this whole amusement park. I was the total opposite, long wavy brown hair, boring green eyes, tiny boobs and a small behind. It's no wonder every guy I like or date falls for Demi in the end. You would think that I'd hate her for it, but Demi never likes them back or at least pretends not too. She's just that sweet.

I took another bite of my burger, coming back into the conversation. "She's cute." I looked up at Jason, he starred at a girl standing in line for the Ferris Wheel. She was cute, a short red head. "Go talk to her." I said, "Na, she's in line for a ride" he said, sipping his soda and looking away. "Just do it!" Demi perked up, "anyways what do you have to lose?" I said, "I guess you're right." He stood up, taking off his hat. Something he did everytime he was gonna talk to a girl he was interested in, it's a wierd habit of his.

"Good Luck!" Demi smiled, we waved him off. "Five bucks he gets her." Demi said, I laughed. "You're on." I took anther bite of my burger.

"Hey Ryder!"

I looked up at Demi, she kept sight on something or someone behind me. I slowly turned around, wondering who had called my name. "It's Ryder right?" I found myself starring into a pair of soft hazel eyes. I starred into them for what felt like an enternity. Boy were they hypnotizing.

I jerked as I felt Demi's foot come in contact with my ankle, I snapped out of my trance. I looked back up to find roller coaster boy who sat next to me. What was his name? "I'm Zander, remember?" He answered my mental question. I put on a small smile. What did beautiful eyed Zander want to do with me? I swallowed the food in my mouth, "Um hi." I said, glancing at Demi who had a confused look on her pretty face.

There stood an awkward silence between the three of us. "Can we help you?" Demi asked, raising an eyebrow. "No not really I just came to say hi." He waved.

"That's it? You just came to say hi?" I thought to myself.

I glanced at Demi, she raised her eyebrow again. I shrugged my shoulders, "Zander let's go!" The boy in the red hat from earlier came up to us, he glanced at me, taking a double take and sitting down next to me. "Why hello there." He said, slightly raising his eyebrow, I rasied mine in confusion. "We gotta go." I stood up, throwing my food in the trash and grabbing Demi's arm, pulling her up to leave. "Bye!" She threw them a smile, waving her fingers flirtatiously. I rolled my eyes again.

"I can't believe you!" Demi yelped, "he was cute!" she finished. I rolled my eyes once again.

"Let's just go!" I said, walking away. I spotted Jason coming our way, a grin on his face. I closed my eyes and let out a sigh in disappointment. He had gotten the little red head and I had just lost five dollars. "Pay up." Demi whispered in my ear. I groaned, taking out a five and handing it to her.

Jason approached us, the smile still on his face.

"I got her!" He threw a fist in the air, I rolled my eyes.

"Of course." I mumbled.
