The Accidental Mermaid
This is my first story, so it's pretty bad (and when i say pretty bad, i mean REALLY bad!). It's about a girl named Shay Richards who finds a mermaid spell online that has some life-changing results

When I finish, I log onto my computer and check my email. Leah already sent out the evites for the beach party she's planning, even though it's a month away. She always does things early; I'm more of the last minute planner.
I start randomly surfing the web when a link pops up. I click it, hoping it's not a virus.
The link takes me to a website called merspell.com. Every inch of the website is covered in mermaids, moons, and waves. Weird. The page the link took me to is labeled " MERMAID SPELL (IT WORKS)". "Suuuuure..." I mutter. I look at the spell. It has a bunch of weird nonsense words (but then again don't all spells have those?) and the directions to put your hand in a glass of water, and put on your favorite piece of jewelry, and say the spell. Why not try it? It's not like I have anything else to do. I go into the kitchen, grab a glass of water, sprint up to my room, and find my favorite silvery blue ring before racing back to the computer.
I put on the ring and put my other hand into the water and begin to say the spell: "Insosient, inclemency, redoubtable mediocracy, refutable humanity, make me what I wish to be, a mermaid, witches one and witches all give this power to me." I say the spell nine more times as instructed, and read more about the spell. Apparently, side effects include weird mermaid dreams, itchy and dry legs, and love of salty food. Doesn't sound that bad. Also, my "tail" will appear one month from now and my "magical powers" (wow i get those too?!) will appear in two months.
I roll my eyes and go back to surfing the web.
A few hours later, when I'm lying in bed, I start thinking about the spell. It seems stupid and fake but I can't help noticing that I'm starting to crave salt. I can just imagine crispy, salty potato chips, salty sushi, and just plain salt swirling tantalizingly through my head...
Suddenly I can't stand it and I race downstairs (lucky for me, my mom went to bed early), grab the container of salt my mom keeps above the stove, and bring back to my room.
I eagerly dump salt into my mouth, loving the explosion of flavor. Yum! I have no idea why I've never noticed how delicious salt is. "I know why," a little voice says in the back of my head, "it's the spell. You're going to be a mermaid in a month!"
"Shut up." I say to the little voice. Wow, now I'm having conversations with myself. Great, just great. And as for the mermaid thing, my body is probably just pretending to react to the spell or something. I'm just going to have to ignore the side effects until they go away.
I take the salt back downstairs and then climb into bed.I try to fall asleep, but before I do, I imagine myself swimming in the ocean with a silvery blue tail. It calms me, but I try to stop thinking about it. "I'm not going to become a mermaid." I think to myself, but as I keep thinking about swimming into the still blue water, feeling bubbles tickling my face, I start to believe I might.
Sorry it's so boring and short... comment if you want me to write more!
