Chapter 1
Which Path Will You Choose?
Dear Quibblonians,
In honor of the stories and all this talk about commenting and rating [which we're all encouraging], I'm starting this story to practice both of these important aspects of Quibblo. This is a group story, and with each chapter created I will invite all of those on my friend's list to read this. The only thing I'm asking of you is to COMMENT AND RATE the stories. It's just a bit of practice. Please participate and help all of us! At the very least I'd like the number ratings to match the number of reads. Thank you all for being wonderful Quibblonians!
Love,
IAmTheTegan
P.S. It wouldn't hurt to vote on every comment, either. Send me a message if you want to write a chapter.

We need your help! You are our new hired detective in a crime scene investigation. We've come to a standstill in our attempt to identify the suspect. Will you read all of our evidence and then tell us who you think committed the crime?
The famous actress January Smith was found dead in her studio apartment Monday, December 4th. Her housekeeper found her sprawled out on her bed, which was unmade. When her housekeeper tried to wake her up, Ms. Smith did not respond. The housekeeper called the authorities at 1:43 p.m., and the authorities arrived eight minutes later. The housekeeper, Maria, came to the door sobbing and could hardly open it.
The determined cause of death was arsenic poisoning. However, this case is a suspected homicide because there was no substance containing arsenic in the household, and with the amount of arsenic authorities assume Ms. Smith consumed, there is no possible way she would have made it home in time to lay on the bed before passing away. There are possible three suspects. Below are their motives, testimonies, and alibis.
Mark Fischer, age 34, Smith's former husband. The married in Vegas and were divorced three years later. Right after their divorce, Smith appeared in her first motion picture and zoomed into fame. Fischer reportedly tried to reconcile with Smith, who wanted nothing to do with him. It is known that after Smith said this Fischer screamed at her, calling her "nothing but a woman who 'loved' her way to the top." Ever since then he's been out to get her. Their divorce papers state that if Smith dies, Fischer rightfully inherits her fortune [along with her misery]. When looking at Smith's phone records, authorities noticed that in the last week of her life the actress received seven phone calls from Fischer and two threatening emails.
"I'm done with Smith. I know I said some things in the past that hurt my reputation, but I've moved on. I might keep some of her money for my children [Jonathan, 6, and Matthew, 2, with wife Paula Rent], but I'll give most of it to charity."
Ficher's reported alibi was being with his wife and children in San Antonio, three hours away from Smith's studio apartment. His wife and children support this, as do three other eyewitnesses. However, it was reported that Fischer's identical twin Ian was in the area that entire week also. When standing next to each other the two look different, but when they are apart it is easy to mistake one for the other.
Abigail Jorn, age 17, Smith's illegitimate child. Smith became pregnant and gave birth to Jorn when she was 17 years old. She left the child with its father and hasn't spoken to her since. Jorn has sought out her mother in recent years, but Smith made it clear that she wanted nothing to do with the child. She did not want anything to interfere with her stardom. Classmates and teachers have reported that Jorn resents her mother. A group of students from Jorn's high school have come forth with the following statement: "Abigail has told all of us that she wishes her mother was dead. She said it would be easier for her to accept the disgrace she brought to her mother. She also said then she might get some of her mother's money."
"Sure it'd be nice for my mother to be dead. If your mother looked at you with hate and disgust, wouldn't you want her dead? Now, though, I wish I was dead. I feel so guilty that I wanted her dead and now she is dead. I feel like I owe her something. I do owe her my life, but I want to make it up to her. And I knew i wasn't going to get any of her money. I didn't deserve it anyhow. I was a lousy illegitimate child."
Jorn has no alibi. She claims that she was home alone the entire day as she was sick, but nobody could testify to this. Her father was traveling for work. NOTE: The suspect did come into the interrogation room coughing and sneezing.
Maria Nunez, age 41, Smith's housekeeper. Four days before Smith was found dead, the actress threatened to fire Nunez for destruction of property. Her table was broken when Nunez set dishes down. The neighbor who relayed this experience then says that Nunez told Smith that she wouldn't get away with it if she did fire her. Smith fired her right then. A list of Smith's phone records show that two days later, and two days before Smith was killed, Smith called the phone number belonging to Nunez. Nunez came back to work for those two days before calling in to the authorities. Her neighbor's and friends had this to say about her "Maria, she can be kind, but she is always holding a grudge until she believes she is even with another person."
"I do nothing. I clean. I cook. I yell. I no kill anyone. I no have arson in my home. I no know what arson is."
Smith's neighbors saw Nunez leaving the studio apartment early the day before she called in Smith's death. Authorities think Smith was poisoned elsewhere and then brought to her apartment during the twilight hours.
Here is our other evidence:
Two of the three suspects had arsenic in their homes. Nunez was not one of them.
Nunez' fingerprints were on Smith's keys.
Fischer's and Nunez' fingerprints were on the bottle of arsenic found in Fischer's home. Nunez also cleans Fischer's home.
There were no fingerprints in Smith's apartment other than Nunez' on the keys.
Smith's love Daniel Sanchez came forward admitting their relationship. He claims he was with Smith the night before she was found dead. There is no evidence to consider him a suspect, although no one can support his alibi.
So, detective, what do you think? can you solve this mystery? Comment and rate. Thank you, and your help is much appreciated.

I guess enthusiastic Quibblonians was the way wrong word...
That was incredibly detailed...I think the random guy in the corner whom nobody noticed did it.
Great detail :) and nicely written
And your consensus is..? XD
Maria
This is really good and I am not sure who it was... hmm thinks I think it was the twin. I don't know why though XD
It's obvious who did it. Maria, who cleans Fischer's house, stole his arsenic and poisoned January Smith. Well done, Tegan! *Claps*
Was it Maria? Hmm.. Do I smell a conspiracy? O.O XDD Thank you, Bree!
Or Fischer could have stolen her keys and used his own arsenic.
True, true.
It's totally obvious it's Maria!! :) Great you should do more!!
The maid did it!! It always the butler or the maid! Always
Great work, Tegan! How can I give constructive criticism when it's so detailed and great and unique? O.O I say it's Maria, too. ;)
XDD Thanks, Katie!
I'm guessing it's that guy, Daniel Sanchez. Or her former husband's wife. Or suicide? So many possibilities...heh heh heh...
Gee yours is really good... Can you explain why?
