Repetivly doing something expecting the same result, even if you keep failing or getting different ones

Being able to look at yourself in the mirror and see that crazed look in your eyes.
The one that will always be there, no matter what.

Standing on the edge of a cliff, staring down, and realizing that you want to jump.

I believe we are all slightly insane, some more, some less. Then again, it depends on who you are and what your standard of "insanity" is...
For me, absolute insanity is one step away from the nuthouse, but some people consider running in the rain to be an insane thing to do so I really can't give you a concrete answer.
