- You consider sending a diplomatic envoy to the enemy first and foremost, to see if this can be resolved peacefully.
- You take several of the enemy captive in a night raid, then in full view of the enemy, brutally execute them to demonstrate your ferocity.

As you prepare for battle, choose your weapon!
- The lance, true weapon of a knight, and most suited to a gentleman of your position
- The crossbow... so you may ambush your enemy when he least expects it.
- The hand-and-a-half or "bastard" sword, so you may honorably confront your enemy on equal terms.
- A thin "misericordia" dagger, to quickly dispatch your fallen enemies by piercing the tiny gaps in their armor.

The unthinkable happens... your army is near defeat!
- Stand your ground, and fight to the last man! You will not accept any dishonor being left on your name.
- Retreat and minimize your losses... then attack again while the enemy thinks he is safe in victory!
- Use this unfortunate event to convince the enemy to accept an armistice, and end the bloody struggle.
- Threaten to execute every fifth man if they continue to allow their cowardice to bring you down.

You seek to marry a Lady of high standards.. but you are not the only suitor for her hand.
- Challenge the other suitors to single combat, and let God's favor decide who will triumph.
- Make her fall in love with you first... use both her and your combined influence to get her father to accept her marriage to you.
- Sell parts of your estate in order to secure the largest dowry, and the marriage too.
- Hire assassins to dispatch any competitors for her hand. But don't concern yourself too much, it's not like she's the only lady you will consort with. Nor the last.

- You gleefully answer the call, and make sure to stop at every holy site along your journey so that God's favor may grant you victory!
- Use your own money to ensure that each one of your soldiers has the best armor, best weapons and best supplies... as the journey will surely be long and perilous.
- Use the opportunity to increase your social position, and gain new titles of nobility, where before you may not have been so high.
- Ignore the summons, and take advantage of those who do go by stealing their land and property.

The War drags on, and your people demand an end to the heavy taxation imposed by the cost of war.
- Confront the enemy in a pitched battle, as a great victory will bring them to the negotiating table on terms favorable to you!
- Use your men to burn the enemy's food supplies, butcher their livestock and poison their wells. They will give in after they are hungry, thirsty, and without the will to fight.
- Send diplomats to arrange for a fair treaty... and merchants to begin trade with a people who will surely be clamoring for the luxuries denied them by war.
- Damn the people! Anyone who disagrees with your rule will be executed on the spot... after a few of those, you doubt many more will question your authority again.
