I think the idea of vampire is quite brilliant (although, I think werewolves are just as awesome).
okay, this"in_love_with_a_cullen" character is an idiot. your getting ALL your facts about vampies from ONE book. and the book is written by a HUMAN....if you really believe vampires exist, then u woudnt base all ur vamp facts on one book that is obviously fictional. ive read the twilight series and although the story IS amasing, skin glittering in the sun? come on... some of it i can believe...like the extrordinary abilities, like how edward can read minds.
if you want a good believable vampire book, try the Undead series, and maybe even Anne Rice's vamp books....but, granted, all books will have thier faults.

Well, there are pros and cons to vampirism. The pros? You have eternal life, and you have much more powers and abilities than normal humans. The Cons? Many get a horrible urge to drink blood, and you'd be cures with eternal undeath. Now, just the concept of immortal gets thrown down as a con there.
