My first language is Tamil it's very unheard of here. But it's a language spoken in Southern India and my parents are both from southern India. Yet I was born in USA.
A friend of mine speaks Tamil. :D
Whoops....I accidentally clicked no. English is my first language, and Spanish is my second.
It happens. XD
Nope, my first language is Afrikaans. :-)
Are you South African? I'm guessing you are.
My first language is Hindi. :)
I think it's my second. Or third.
Oh, so what's your first?
No. Surprisingly, Cantonese is my first language, even though I was born in Canada. But, shortly after entering Kindergarten, my English developed fast, though I have a bad accent that causes me to say words weird even though I know in my head that i can pronounce. So annoying -.-
I don't know much Cantonese now, since I've been hearing English for years and years. But if you say something to me in Cantonese I will understand it. xD
I also know French do to the fact of, you know.. living in Canada, you are taught French from a very small age.. I'm sure it's the same in America, maybe? o-o In some parts... but not sure.
I know a bit of Japanese due to the fact of anime. Idiot, why, sorry, you know.. the typical stuff..
I'm not sure if it's the same in America. I wouldn't really know. :/
Ahaha! I get you! My friend is an otaku so the words sort of rubbed off on me. XD
Hey, my family speaks Cantonese! Although English is my first language, I speak Cantonese at home sometimes.
Yay, I'm not alone! XD
Rule #35465 of life: You're never alone! :D
Yes. Even though I'm from the Philippines, English is my first language. I'm also better in speaking English than Filipino :)) (A lot of people in my country had English as their first! Or if that's not the case, they grow up to be better in English than the native language for some reason. Well, that's for people from my area at least).
I have the same problem! I'm better at English than my native language. XD
Swahili is your native tongue? I have no idea what that sounds like. . . . I'll have to look it up! What about it is difficult to you? I saw that you mentioned it once or twice in other comments to people that it's a difficult language. I love learning languages - I've studied nearly 20 now, during my life. I'm pretty good in the Asian languages now that I've had more time on them than anything else. My first language is English, the ever-boring me. XP
1) Only studied. No fluency, so I'm not that great. DX
2) 10?!?! That is amazing. I thought Polish have seven was big. Wow. . . . I'll definitely have to look that up now. How/when did you learn English? Was it something you grew up with or learned later?
*having seven. DX Sometimes my own language decides to escape me on the way to the keyboard.
I had to learn English once I began schooling.
I'll use the verb hit as an example:
Nope, Finnish is, but I've learned English for 4 years now ^-^ I also speak Swedish, and just started studying German :)
