My last name is Italian
It actually means spirit
Romanian: Mihail, Mihai
Russian: Mikhail (Михаил)
These are the ways my name changes on a daily basis.
I only have Shannon but it isn't English, it's Irish. Upon doing this quiz, it would be interesting to have one in another language.
My first name is Ann and my middle name is Vân (Vietnamese). My family and all of my relatives always call me by my middle name. For foreign language class in school (Spanish), I chose the name Ana. :3
My first and middle names are Spanish and then my last name is Scottish, but I guess that's still technically English ^^
What, are some of your names then?
20, how...? O.o
My unofficial Chinese given name means crimson - 紅紅 (Hóng Hóng?)
My Chinese name is æ…§ç³ (intelligent/wise + jade). Therefore my Korean name is 혜림, which means basically the same thing.
I have some fictional names - Tolkein's Elvish, for instance - but in a lot of other languages, I like to pick a name that means 'River' or has some association with water. Just an odd preference of mine. ^.^
I just found out that my Indonesian surname may mean 'philanthropist' or 'someone who keeps promises' as well. O.O I never would have guessed.
My first name is Hebrew for 'wealth'; my middle names is Welsh for 'lame' (D;) and 'princess'. It is also Latin for 'sword', a variant of the gladiolus flower. It's also the Welsh version of Claudia, or Claude - 'persistence.'
Lastly, my current surname is Indonesian. My original surname was Chinese, probably a Mandarin one. The Indonesian government doesn't like Chinese people, so...they made my father's family change it a long, long time ago. Waay before I was even born.
What an interesting name! It really does tell a story.
I have a Hebrew name too, and it means "to bind, ensnare," which isn't so nice, but it is similar to the English version of the name which means to "captivate, entrance" - bit of a nicer meaning! Then I have a name for myself in every language I've ever learned even a bit of, so I've got about twenty names. Dx
