Plus this quiz is just about stereotypes. It means nothing, other than to tell people "not all emos cut". Which most people, by now, know that. It only helps if you're educating people.
Why do self proclaimed "emo" people shy away from the genuine meaning like it's not supposed to be spoken of, or at least it is in hushed voices? It's not something deep like "It's a feeling in your soul, knowing you're in pain and only the sweet release of death can cure it". It's basically about supporting the music and scene you claim to be about. Yes, something physical, not something completely psychological that's easily changeable.
Besides from this, you've got people who've gone all liberal on it and has made it "anything you want". No. Emo pertains to a certain group of people who have the definition in common; listening to and supporting emo music. Buying bands' records, merch, concert tickets, going to their shows and DIY. If you don't have the definition, it's lost all meaning. It's just that "anyone can be emo without them having anything in common". Labels don't work like that.
100% it is so easy
I got an 80
So you know what emo means?
Obviously this was directed at me and yes, I've genuinely done valid research which has taught me about emotive hardcore, screamo, powerviolence, emo violence, Rites of Spring, Embrace and the Washington D.C scene. Just knowing about the first emo band, Rites of Spring, already means I know more than you because almost all self proclaimed "emos" have done absolutely no research.
It's really not that difficult to type "emo" in Google and reading what comes up. It's not some aesthetic, spiritual or deep meaning bs, it genuinely has a definition. Anyone can do it.
100% = you are not an emo and you have no idea of the real meaning.
Excuse me? That was rude.
Emo means "emotive hardcore", not "whiney".
Excusing you for the sake of man kind.
You're 13 years old, that's no surprise to me.
