You know anime is still technically animation, its just that it comes from japan, so animation should still be right, plus I knew it came from Japan, so I didn't want to select 'japanese animation?' because I wasn't asking and I wasn't unsure.
For your second question , the term anime means literally "Animation" in Japanese. Thus, the Japanese call everything animated, domestic or foreign, anime.
It's only in America where it is distinct for Japanese animation.
