Programming Languages that are Elementary to Full Stack Web Development

JavaScript is an essential building block in adding dynamic and intuitive characteristics to your website. The JavaScript language is an implementation of the underlying ECMAScript specification. When you start with your web development career, your most essential milestone is learning JavaScript from the ground up. For many front-end frameworks, e.g., Angular, React, Vue.js, and back-end frameworks, e.g., Node.js, you must know JavaScript before you begin.

You can learn the basics of the JavaScript language very quickly. It would help if you kept in mind that as the ECMAScript specification keeps evolving, more advanced features are added to the language. Such features include asynchronous functions, shared memory, and atomic operations. You may also hire Javascript developer for your project.

When you begin your journey with JavaScript, reading all those advanced JS concepts might overwhelm you. Here it would be best if you focused on the basics first and then move on to the more advanced concepts afterward.

The rise of Angular TypeScript has gone through great traction. If you are about to learn Angular, you must first have a look at TypeScript. TypeScript is an addition to JavaScript. Hence, users always use it together with JavaScript to enable functionalities like type checking. TypeScript has an excellent set of tools that is especially useful when you work with code editors like Visual Studio Code.

In 2018/19, Python is one of the top programming languages that companies prefer to use. If you have not added Python to your programming skill-set yet, you must start learning now itself! Python helps you cover a wide range of use cases. It allows you to implement command-line scripts, GUI applications, and web applications. The Python programming language, at present, has become highly instrumental in the field of scientific computing. If you decide on learning Python for web development, you must then study Python web programming frameworks, e.g., Django or Flask.

Front-end Frameworks-

Both front-end and back-end development frameworks ease out the development process of standard functionality.  Before starting to use a framework, you must always remember to attempt to achieve a profound understanding of and insight into the underlying technology stack (e.g., JavaScript). It will assist you in learning and understanding the concept better. The most critical front-end frameworks in the web development process include the following:

Angular is a framework that developers use to build client applications in HTML and JavaScript / TypeScript. The structure uses and declarative merger templates, dependency injection, end to end tooling, and integrated best practices to solve development challenges or issues. In 2018/2019, Angular has been one of the most popular frameworks for building single-page web applications. The Angular framework brought with it a few major framework updates, i.e., version 6 and version 7. With the addition of such multiple features, Angular is achieving higher traction. If you are searching for a new JS web development framework that you want to learn in 2019, you must take a more in-depth look into Angular.

React is a JavaScript library that helps build user interfaces. React enables you to create interactive UIs painlessly. You can design effortless views for each state in your application. React will be there to efficiently update and render the most fundamental components as and when your data will be changing. Declarative views make your code easily predictable and more comfortable in the course of the debugging process. The framework is entirely component-based. You can build enfolded components that manage their state. You can then compose them to create complex UIs. You will be writing component logic in JavaScript and not templates. Hence, you can easily pass rich data through your app and keep the state out of the DOM. React 16, released in September 2017, has gone through several enhancements added with version 16.3.0 with new lifecycle and context API, 16.4.0 with pointer events, and 16.6.0 with lazy, memo, etc. Also, version 2.0 of Create React App now supports Babel 7 and Sass out-of-the-box. React enables you to create compelling and attractive single-page applications/websites. If you have not yet added React to your skill-set, you must not waste more time! If you wish to develop a more complex web application with React, you must study the basics of Redux. Redux will help you use central state management in your application. It simplifies the process of data-handling across components.

2018 and 2019 have been great years for Vue as it experienced an explosion in its growth. Vue is straightforward. Hence, you can learn it quickly. It is a perfect choice for smaller-sized projects. The learning curve looks steep, and you can expect to witness exclusive results fast. Statistics say that from a total of 78k stars on Github, Vue has reached to 120k stars by the end of 2018. The number of companies adding Vue.js to their stacks is increasing with passing days. Hence, the demand for Vue.js developers is also growing steadily.

Back-end Frameworks-

When selecting a back-end framework for your web project, there are several options to choose from. Back-end frameworks are the frameworks running on the back-end i.e., on the server. They generate JSON, HTML,etc., for your website. The process of generation is dynamic and depends on the URL of your user visits.

If you are only developing on the front-end side of a project, you need not add a back-end framework to your skill-set. But, for gaining a vivid understanding of how everything is functioning, you must at least understand the basics of a back-end framework. Also you may hire a full stack developer to combine both back-end & front-end project work into one for better project efficiency.

Node.js helps you with the execution of JavaScript code at the back-end. It becomes highly powerful when you use Node.js together with the Express middle-ware. To begin with, Node.js, you must first make sure to develop a sound and thorough knowledge of the JavaScript programming language. It will help you to decipher and understand the core concepts of Node quickly.

Django is entirely written in Python. If you are looking for the elegance and subtlety of the Python programming language, you will love the Django. Django is a robust framework and serves you for a wide range of use cases. If you have, by then, gained a thorough understanding of Python, you will be able to learn Django quickly. You will also discover the pragmatic approach very quickly.

Git is the most widely used version control system for any source code. As a developer, you will have to put your hands into Git and GitHub, sooner or later. Several companies already use GitHub as a version control system. If you want to complete and solidify your skill-set as a web developer, you should consider learning at least the basics of Git.

This was all about various programming languages that are elementary to full stack development.
