"Haha," I said as my friend Tiffany picked herself up from the mud for the millionth time. "Dude!" she yelled," how do you not fall into the mud?"
Trixie, my other friend, smirked and walked over to pick up the hose.
"AAAAGGGGGHHHHHHH!!!!! THAT WATER IS FREEZING! STOP GETTING ME DRENCHED IN ICE COLD LIQUIDS, TRIX!"
" 'Liquids'," Jessica, another friend, echoed. "Nice word choice, Tif."
"SHE DUMPED MILK ON ME 3 MINUTES AGO!"
" I know but still, 'liquids'?"
" You could have said something a little less sciency," I advised her as i chucked her a towel. "Okay, now what d' you wanna do now?"
"Um. . . Maybe you guys should take a shower," Jessica said.
"I call the shower!"
"She already said to take a shower, so what's the point of saying 'I call the shower', Tif?" I hissed.
"Oh. Right. Sorry. Then I call the bath!"
"You're sitting in your wet dirt!"
"OMG! MOM! I GOT MY HOGWARTS LETTER!"
"Do ya think Dad would be proud?"
Mom's grin slid from her face. "No, perhaps not. He hated magic. Always jealous that I was a witch and he wasn't a wizard."
"That's why he left?"
"OMG! I GOT MY HOGWARTS ACCEPTANCE LETTER, TOO!" Tiffany screeched.
"Well, who here didn't!?" Trixie yelled.
"What's you blood status, Sapphire?" Jessica asked me.
"Aaahhh, lucky. I'm pure-blood. My whole family are blood traitors. We're related to the Weasleys, did you know that?"
"No," Tiffany, Trixie, and I chorused.
"What 'bout you, Trix?"
"I'm Sapph's cousin, but pure-blood, too. Blood traitors; my mom works at the Misuse of Muggle Artifacts. Most boring place ever."
"I'm also a Metamorphmagus."
"Yeah, I am," I said in surprise. "Didn't Mom tell you guys?"
"Maybe that's why your hair is jet black today; it was pink yesturday."
"Yeah, a bright, bubblegum, electric-ish pink."
Today was the day we were flying to England (we live in America, California, to be more exact).
"This is kool,"Tiffany said happily, staring around at all of the hags, wizards, witches, vampires, and stuff (the Ministry of Magic provided a plane for all of us, meaning Tiffany's family, Trixie's family, and mine and Jessica's families.
"Way past kool, THIS IS AWESOME!" Jessica screeched.
"The thing I don't get is that why all of you guys decided to move to California when you guys were born in Britain," Trixie said.
"We all got nice magical jobs here, Trix," Mr. Wilson (Trixie's dad) answered.
"Kool,"I said. "Mom, why did Dad hate magic, again?"
"Well," she said slowly. "He just has a weird working brain."
"Really, Mom, really?" I said, looking annoyed. "That's the best you got?"
"Yes, Mrs. Fields, that's the best?" Tiffany imitated. I glared at her.
"Ok, platform 9 3/4, here we are."
We finally made it to england the next day and slept for about 10 hours, until Mr. Lyn (Jessica's dad) yelped that we were gonna be late.
I (Jessica, Trixie, and Tiffany, too) slept all the way to King's Cross.
When we were about 2 miles away, we jerked awake and grumbled in a very annoyed fashion.
"Do we have our stuff?" Mrs. Vega (Tiffany's mom) asked. "Wand?"
"Check," we mumbled holding up our wands (mine was 11 1/2 inches, dragon heartstring, sycamore and ash wood, very powerful, particularly good for Transfiguration and Defense Against the Dark Arts; Jessica's was 12 3/4 inches, phoenix tail feather, holly and chestnut wood, not very trusting, works well for Vanishing and Reappearing objects, as well as Apparating and Dissapparating; Trixie's was 10 1/4 inches, unicorn hair, willow and yew, nice and trusting, works extremely well for Charms; and Tiffany's was 11 3/4 inches, unicorn hair, cherry and rosewood, works well against dark magic).
"Check." (Mine was a Eagle Owl, Jessica's was a Hawk Owl, Trixie's was a Scops Owl, and Tiffany's was a Tawny Owl.)
We were 1 mile away when Mrs. Vega and us kids finished checking our stuff ("Scales?" "Check.") and me, Jessica, Trixie, and Tiffany fell asleep again.
Me, Jessica, Tiffany, and Trixie fell out of our seats.
"About time," Trixie mumbled as we picked ourselves off the ground.
