To Dance Again ~A StarKid Love Story~

Yup...another one.

Chapter 1

Getting Out of Bed

“Amber, come onnnn,” Sally said, tugging at my arm.
“No. Leave me alone,” I said, pulling my arm from her grasp and covering my eyes with it.
“Amber, you can't stay in bed all day. You need to get out and about,” she said, pulling the covers off of me.
“Hey!” I sat up and glared at her. “What the fvck do you think you're doing?”
“I'm taking you to see the StarKids,” she said, going towards my closet.
“What?”
“You heard me.” She threw some clothes on my bed.“Get dressed. You don't have a choice in the matter.” Sally could be very stubborn, and stern. You kinda have to be, living with as many siblings as she did. I always felt grateful that I didn't have three sisters and two brothers. And that I wasn't one of hers.
I sighed, crawling over to the pile of clothes and shaking them out. Sally seemed satisfied with the response, and started to walk out of my room, calling over her shoulder. “I'm watching.”
“Um, that sounds kinda creepy,” I said, a little worried.
“You know what I mean!” she said, trying to save herself. I snickered. “Ugh,” she said, slamming the door, causing my Ville Valo poster to fall down. I went over to fix it, pulling my shirt off as I did so, and threw it at the purple laundry hamper.

“Why did you drag me here?” I asked Sally, staring out the car window. Most of the parking lot was filled, which meant there would be a lot of people. I didn't do well with crowds, especially after that last time...
“Because you need a good cheering up,” Sally said, drawing me back to the present.
“How is this supposed to cheer me up?”
“You haven't seen any of the StarKid productions have you?”
“Nope,” I answered, shaking my head. “And I'm sure I don't want to. I just want to go home.”
“Well, you're not going home, so stop trying. You're gonna love it,” she said, opening her door. She stood outside the car waiting for me to get out. When I just sat there she opened it for me, and pulled me out into the parking lot.
About twenty minutes later we were sitting in theater seats, holding a big bucket of popcorn and a couple of Cokes. Sally pulled out something red from her bag.
“Why do you have Twizzlers?” I asked her. She looked at me as if I had grown another head.
“These are not Twizzlers! These are Red Vines.” She opened the pack and handed me one. I took a bite and wrinkled my nose. They didn't taste very good. Sally apparently saw my distaste.
“That's how I reacted at first too.” She got herself a Red Vine and started chewing on it. “They have a taste that you have to learn to love.”
I nodded and kept eating mine. She was right – after about three of them I started to like them. “But why do we have them?” I asked her.
“You'll see,” she said, with a grin and a twinkle in her eyes. Just then the curtain parted up on the stage.
