My Chemical Romance rant... Fsck the Daily Mail

i know this is old news, but i need to rant.

Chapter 1

The "suicide cult' my ar**se

by: Matt_
Most fans of My Chemical Romance know how the Daily Mail went on and on about MCR being a 'suicide cult' and all that. Here's a few of my thoughts, with quotes off the article taken directly of the Daily Mail site.

"The Emo phenomenon began in the U.S. in the 1980s. It is a largely teenage trend and is characterised by depression, self-injury and suicide.
Followers wear tight jeans with studded belts and wristbands. Their hair is dyed black and worn in long fringes to obscure their faces.
Emo - from the word emotional - is a reference to the angst-filled lyrics and melancholy themes of the rock music central to the culture.
One of the foremost of these "suicide cult" bands is My Chemical Romance, from New Jersey."

-Okay first things first...not every song of MCR is about death and doom and gloom. On Danger Days, i dont feel that those songs are depressing. They're rather upbeat actually.

"Followers wear tight jeans with studded belts and wristbands. Their hair is dyed black and worn in long fringes to obscure their faces."

-Second things second, I wear tight jeans with studded belts and wristbands. Admitedly my hair isnt dyed black, it's dyed red and i have a short fringe... does that make me emo??

"The Black Parade is a nickname for the place where Emo fans believe they will go when they die."

-Third things third, bahahahahaha. That is all. I'd say more but it would all be laughter.

"Hannah gave her name as Living Disaster on her page on social networking website Bebo."

-Fourth... What does her username have to do with anything?? If anything, it's a pretty cool name unlike Bieberfan101 and sh**t like that. Not quite sure how that makes her emo.

"Emo fans wear dark clothes, practise self-harm and listen to "suicide cult" rock bands"

-Fifth i wear dark clothes, I don't cut or harm myself and all the 'suicide cult rock bands' i listen to all protest AGAINST suicide... so i guess that means that they're not 'suicide cult rock bands' are they?

"A girl of 13 killed herself after becoming obsessed with a fashion which links death with glamour, an inquest heard"

-Sixth... A small bit of wordplay in this, sorry. What part of that strikes you as wierd? Yep, the ending. 'An inquest heard'. So not anything reliable just "someone somewhere heard this so we shall put it in an article that has no actual facts about this band to turn people against this band." Yeah, can we have some sort of FACTS please?

"One of their songs contains the lyrics: "Although you're dead and gone, believe me your memory will go on.""

-Seventh... What does this have to do with anything?? It's just a lyric. If you want to pick fault with something, go listen to rap. (No offense, rap fans. Just my opinion.) And it's always better to listen to rants about anger, suicide and murder, rather than going out and doing all of those.

"There are websites that show pink teddies hanging themselves," she said. (The girl's mother)

-Point Eight.. so what do you get when you hang a bunch of pink teddies?? No idea?? Me neither. And how can they hang themselves? INANIMATE objects, people. So that would be murder, not suicide. I admit that MCR does have a few songs about killing people... but they don't actually go out and kill people.

"She promised me she would never do it again."

-Nine... Geez, people. When are you all gonna learn that teenagers lie? Not all, but most have lied at least once. I can say this cause I am a teenager.

-Ten... FSCK THE DAILY MAIL...

Rant over. And a very merry unbirthday to you!! (Its my birthday today)
