Chapter 1

My Resolutions

Now, I usually don't make New Years resolutions, because I never keep them, so, what's the point? When I was 8, my #1 resolution was to become a professional piano player. And, of course, that didn't happen. But, let's see if I can keep these resolutions.

1. I think that I really want to lose weight. I mean, my mom claims that I'm average weight, but I still want to try. A good way to do this is to use the excersize machine in our house. But I would need some encouragement and reward to get me to do that. Maybe just a small snack or dessert since I am trying to lose weight. I could also try eating a little less. I eat when I'm bored, sad, hungry, tired, any time I can. I really want to stop that. Although, if I must eat, I could try for healthier snacks, with less sugar, like veggies, fruits, wheat, and dairy. Some good options are oranges, cheese, yoghurt, sandwich, etc.

2. Another resolution of mine is to get better at being social. See, I've never really been popular. Actually, I never really had any good friends. I just had those kinds of friends that you talk to off and on, nothing really important. But this year is going to be different! (I hope...) I think that some good ways of doing that are being open and accepting, tell the truth when I have to, try to have a sense of humor, mostly ask the questions, be brave, and just try harder. If what I think is true, I should be making at least SOME new friends.

3. I think that my last resolution would be getting off the computer more often, and spending time outside. My mom's always on my case about getting outside
because I'm going to get too addicted. And, as annoying as she is, she's right. I just don't have anything to do outside because I don't have any friends to hang out with. It's always more interesting to do things with friends. And, if resolution #2 works out, maybe I'll end up spending time outside. Although, I am currently volunteering at a horse rescue, which gets me outside. I just love being out there. But it's only twice a week, which may or may not be enough. But, I may have to wait until spring or after to do this, since it's FREEZING. Litterally.

Well, these are my goals this year. Not that I expect to accomplish them, but... who cares? Thanks for reading!
