You're Never Alone

Chapter 3

Lillian

I still couldn't believe my parents would do this to me. I mean, you're supposed to love your child no matter what, right? Wrong. The second your child turns into a frog, they get sent into the woods to die. But did I die? No, I am still very much alive, and that experiance taught me to be a fighter. And that's why right now I'm sitting in a tree with my bow loaded.

I listened very carefully. Yep, there was definitely something in those bushes. I would be having dinner tonight. I just hoped it wasn't a fox. Fox had almost no flavor, and I have had fox for three nights in a row. This probabally sounds disgusting, but if you got to eat, you got to eat.

I was delighted when a raccoon lumbered out. I hadn't had raccoon in ages. I waited three seconds before firing. One......Two......THREE! My arrow snapped towards the ground. I was glad I would be eating tonight. In my life, you never know.

I decided to go for a run after dinner. I wondered what animal I should be. Something small enough to go fast, but large enough to not be threatened. I knew to never go out as something vulnerable ever again. I had a long scar down my leg to remind me.

After my dinner, I was so full, I just fell asleep. I would run in the morning.

The next morning I morphed into a coyote. I ran with another coyote I new, Mark. I knew he meant well, but he could be really annoying sometimes.

He ran ahead of me, probabally to annoy the wolf that was coming our way.

"Hey, who are you?" he asked.

"I'm Randi. Who are you?" she asked him.

"A cayote." he said.

"Not what, who."

"I'm that one male. Haha." he laughed. I rolled my eyes.

"I have to go." she told him.

"Ooh! Where ya goin' where ya goin'?!" he asked excitedly.

"Back to my pack." she told him as she ran away. I didn't blame her for running.

"Seriously, Mark. Why do you annoy people like that?" I asked.

" Cuz' it's fun!" he said. I rolled my eyes again.

I ran back to my home deep in the woods, hoping I would have lunch today.
