Trick or Treat

Halloween

Chapter 1

Trick or Treat

A harvest moon that dances in the sky
looks on down and watches kids that run on by.
They are dressed in costumes from witches to ghouls
that seem to come alive to feed on our souls.

Trick or treat
and give me something good to eat.

A crackle of fire and the aroma of sugar
for one day in the year that must always be considered.
It's known as the Halloween night
that leads so many towards the light or fright.

Trick or treat
and give me something good to eat.

It's the time where vampires emerge from shadows
and the dark calls for our names through its echoes.
It's the time were faeries fly around, sharing their glitter of gold
to keep many away from harm and keep all of us on hold.

Trick or treat
and give me something good to eat.

This poem is inspired by the one night in autumn that is on October 31st known as..... Halloween.
