The Black Sheep
"Get out." My father ordered.
"Yeah, no one here wants you anymore." I looked at Amy and Carol.
"And don't even think about coming home for any holidays or the end of the year. You want a home, stay here. Now get out." I looked at my mother before opening the door and stepping out. Turning around to say bye to my parents, my sisters slammed the door closed and zoomed off down the lonely road, leaving me with my bags at the front door.
"Bye.." I turned back around to look at the building before me and picked up my bags, looking around at the street. No one was even walking on the street, it looked very creepy. "Well it's now or never." I muttered as I pushed open the door to see a whole new world in front of me. "Whoa..." I looked around at the activity. Kids were crowding the hallway, talking to each other as if they knew each other. And, it being a boarding school, I'm pretty sure they did. Some people looked my way, but didn't do much more than that. When the door finally closed behind me, one girl with glasses walked up.
"Hi, there. You must be the new kid. I'm Grace. I'm the school president." I nodded. "Would you like to look around? Or shall I take you to the Headmaster?" I spotted some guy sitting alone outside doing homework and looked back at Grace.
"The Headmaster is fine. And I can find my way around, thank you." Grace nodded and smiled.
"No problem. The Headmaster's office is right this way." She turned around and walked to the right of the hallway. Not wanting to be awkward, I headed after, carrying my bags. After I had passed the crowd of kids, Grace was already halfway down the hall. She looked back and noticed my bags. "Oh, you don't have to carry that. Here, I'll do it for you.
"Oh, no. I can handle-" The weight of my bags were lifted and I watched as the started floating towards Grace. "Wow, Are you doing that?" She chuckled.
"I"m a senior, so I can control my powers. What's your power?" I walked with her as my bags followed in the air.
"Um, I can create electricity." I looked back at the bags and almost bumped into a guy as we turned the corner. "Oh, I'm so sorry. I didn't see you."
"Yeah, tall guy like me. I'm very hard to miss in a hallway." I looked up at him, noticing his brown eyes and smirk.
"Uh, sorry. I'll get out of your way" I stepped out of his way and watched him look at Grace, who was smiling flirtatiously and twirling her hair at him.
"Hi, Skylar." Skylar nodded once at her and looked at me as he left.
"See you around, new girl." He smirked at me as he walked away down the hall to a girl who immediately kissed him. I chuckled and followed Grace to the iron door that said,
Knock before entering
"Anyway, here you are. I'll leave your bags here for when you're done here. If you ever need me, I'll be in the office or must likely in the courtyard with my friends. Bye now." I watched her walk away and shook my head.
"Crazy people." As I knocked, I heard shuffling behind the door and finally, a response.
