Chapter 1

I_Am_Raven's One Shot

Rathina didn't know what to do. Beast Boy was avoiding her at all cost, which only caused her to worry more.

"What did I do?" She asked herself as she walked to his place. They'd been friends for years and now this constant isolation? Rathina was worried she did something to make him not want her. After he saved her, like what? Five different times? "I hope he'll talk to me." She tugged her jacket to her body, a sudden chill overcoming the air. When she reached the building, she walked right in. She's been there enough times that her sudden walking in was normal. Cyborg and Starfire were playing a card game and didn't see her right away. It was only when she spoke up that they paid attention to her.

"Hey, Rathina! Been a while since we've seen you." Rathina smiled a little.

"Yeah, I've just been...busy.." She lied. Cyborg got up and hugged her tightly, almost taking the breathe out of her.

"I'm glad you're back. Beastboy is going to go berserk when he sees you." Even though Rathina blushed at the thought, she doubted he would be happy. But she had to know the truth. She really liked Beastboy, so she didn't want anything weird between them.

"Want me go to get him?" Starfire offered, but Rathina shook her head.

"No, I want to surprise him." She smiled and nodded.

"Okay, you know where his room is." Leaving those two to their game, Rathina headed up to Beastboy's room. Before she touched the door, she thought about what would happen when she stepped through that door. Would he despise her? Would he tell her to leave? Would he hate her? She couldn't imagine what he would do, so the anxiety of the near future caused her to just open the door, revealing the sight and sound of what stood before her.

"-Love you so much. I can't fathom being away from you any longer." Raven's hand was in his and he was staring deeply into her eyes. His words cut through her heart, leaving her broken heart on the floor of his bedroom. She couldn't do anything except let the tears fall. Before they even turned to look at her, she started backing up, slowly. She wasn't prepared for this. Of course he would love her, she thought. She's better than I am. I'm just a stupid human who he keeps having to save.

"Rathina?" The look on Raven's face was the same. It never changed really. But the look on Beastboy's face was shock.

"Rathina, this is not what it looks like. Please, let me explain." Rathina shook her head.

"You don't have to. That's all I need to know. Have a happy life with her." Her voice cracked, showing the sadness and broken heart to the one guy she actually loved, even though, he wasn't technically a guy. When she got the elevator, she fell the floor of the elevator and just cried. She was not prepared to see that. She thought he hated her. When she reached the ground floor, she got up and ran towards the door, seeing Cyborg and Starfire's shapes in her blurry vision.

"Rathina? Are you okay? What happened?" She ignored their attempts to prod something out of her, letting the tears flow along with her broken heart unable to mend itself. She got to her place, locking the door and falling against it. If he wanted to be with Raven, I can't help it. It'll kill me more than being hated.

"Rathina! Please open the door." Beastboy's voice through the door, caused something to snap in her. She unlocked the door and opened the door a little, looking at his face.

"What do you want?" He looked a little sad as he squeezed through the small opening.

"I want to explain." As she closed the door, she closed her eyes for a second before moving away, walking into the living room. She didn't need to hear it. She saw it all.

"Explain what? You don't need to explain anything. You want to be with Raven, I'm not stopping you." She hugged herself as she turned to look at him, her eyes red. Beastboy didn't move, his own feelings soaring through the roof. How could he tell her how he felt about her? "Just let me get over you in my own time." He frowned in confusion.

"What?" She looked away, her eyes tearing up again.

"I've always loved you. I need to get over you if you want to be with Raven." Just saying the words caused her heart to break more. Beastboy couldn't help but smile. When Rathina looked at him with her beautiful stormy blue eyes, she took it the wrong way.

"Rathina..." He took a step towards her, watching her brown hair move as she backed away. "You need to know the truth." Rathina looked at him again as he walked to her, causing her to back into the cool wood pillar with nowhere to go. "I was asking Raven for help."

"Help with what?" She whispered, feeling her heart pound in her chest as he got closer to her face.

"Help me with you. Telling you the truth. I couldn't see you for the last few weeks because my feelings for you were unable to be contained within me. I had to get myself under control, so I wouldn't kiss you out of impulse." Kiss me? She looked him in the eyes, noticing the love vibe she was getting from him.

"Why didn't you?" Her voice was getting stronger, feeling her heart starting to mend itself slowly. "I've always loved you. A kiss wouldn't kill me. I was afraid you hated me."

"Hate you? No, I love you. I fell in love with you. You're the one that's always there for me. My best friend. My partner in crime. I fell in love with you years ago when I first saved you." She couldn't help but smile at his words.

"Well what are you waiting for?" Beastboy smiled the biggest smile she's seen in a long time and closed the space between their faces, mending her heart completely with a kiss. So happy, Rathina wrapped her arms around his neck and feeling Beastboy arms around her waist.
