Landenberg's Sunday Brunches

So this is a song I wrote and am entering into the Quibblo contest. I was inspired by music like Panic at the Disco as well as the Steampunk and Victorian Era. This song (or perhaps it is a poem since there is not music set to it...) also as a lot of influence from Alice in Wonderland and has a sort of whhimsy feel to it. A lot of this is taken from my personal thoughts, opinions, and feelings when concerning certain topics. Anyway, I hope you can enjoy this and relate! Thanks!

Chapter 1

Landenberg's Sunday Brunches

by: DaxiTaxi
Verse 1:
Sunday brunches and boring itchy dresses,
Small churches with little acceptance,
The proper girls who wear the dresses with no complaints,
The boys who know better and behave,
The fancy laced table cloths,
The perfectly set table,
After Sunday church service,
All is pleasant in the neighborhood.

Chorus A:
And then there's the girl in black again,
And there's the girl with too much makeup on,
The one who dares to step on the perfect lawn,
There's the girl who pretends to believe in God,
And puts up with the ridiculous family,
There's the girl who is silent in the corner,
And then there's the girl in black again.

Verse 2:
Formal church services and too tight clothing,
Girls that stand like they're always posing,
Every girl is wearing those annoying little pearl earrings,
Death penalty for eating before blessing,
Formally dressed men,
Boys in their finest suits,
And as for the girls,
Poofy dresses and don't forget the pearls.

Chorus A:
And then there's the girl in black again,
And there's the girl with too much makeup on,
The one who dares to step on the perfect lawn,
There's the girl who pretends to believe in God,
And puts up with the ridiculous family,
There's the girl who is silent the corner,
And then there's the girl in black again.

Chorus B:
And then there's that boy dressed in black,
And there's that boy who fools around,
He'll dare to step and walk on the lawn with her,
There's the boy who smirks at her in church,
And knows how ridiculous the whole thing is,
And there's that boy,
There's that boy dressed in black again.

Bridge:
Pray for sanity,
Pray to God for sanity,
Throw the cake and drop the match,
And she and him smile,
As the Sunday Brunch finally gets interesting,
While throwing the food the children giggle,
As the adults throw a fit,
And the boy dressed in black smirks at her,
And the girl in black smirks back.

Chorus A:
And then there's the girl in black again,
And there's the girl with too much makeup on,
The one who dares to step on the perfect lawn,
There's the girl who pretends to believe in God,
And puts up with the ridiculous family,
There's the girl who listens to her music,
And then there's the girl in black again.

Chorus C:
And then there's that boy dressed in black,
And there's that boy who fools around,
He'll dare to step and walk on the lawn with her,
There's the boy who smirks at her in church,
And knows how ridiculous the whole thing is,
And there's the boy dressed in black,
And there's the girl in black,
And there they are dressed in black again.
