Words: A Poem

I don't usually do poetry but I was writing something else and it kind of just happened. Oh I was actually looking for a word in the story I was writing. Still don't have it; irony. Feedback is welcome.

Chapter 1

Sometimes we lack the words
The words to accumulate lies
The ones to dispel truth
And to bring forth sweet irony.

And sometimes, sometimes
The words flow forth
Watery and free
Personifying thoughts and memories.

I believe that power comes with speech,
A certain charisma, you see,
And speech comes with power
An unending blooming flower.

In the end, whether the words come
Freely as a river’s waters does,
Or is crushed by a dam in the stream,
They are infinite.

Just like all of us.
