Pretty Denial (Poem)
This is just a poem about denial (obviously). I hope that you enjoy it!
Chapter 1
Pretty Denial
You see it
You like it
It’s pretty
You buy it
It goes away
It’s losing light
It fades out
Through the night
It’s coming back
It never left
You try to calm down
And take deep breaths
You look again
You’re hurting yourself
You ignore the facts
And look at the shelf
Yet again
You pretend
A vicious cycle
That never ends
You see it
You like it
It’s pretty
You buy it
You like it
It’s pretty
You buy it
It goes away
It’s losing light
It fades out
Through the night
It’s coming back
It never left
You try to calm down
And take deep breaths
You look again
You’re hurting yourself
You ignore the facts
And look at the shelf
Yet again
You pretend
A vicious cycle
That never ends
You see it
You like it
It’s pretty
You buy it

Good job! I enjoyed it. Pretty rhyming :D
I like it[= its.....pretty
I don't really understand what the 'it' is.
Well, it's a poem about denial. Whoever the poem is speaking about is trying to block something out and believe a different reality, hence, it.
Great poem, but I can't relate so much. Unless I am misunderstanding it. I do that a lot. I think. -_-
Great poem! I love it! Five stars and a favorite ^-^
I love this poem! It covers a pretty tricky topic. The title is quite the eye catcher and is very intriguing.
Thank you! I'm pretty bad at titles, so I'm glad that you think so. (I have quite a bit of untitled work).
Me too. Not as much for stories, but all my school essays have terrible titles! :)
