I Kinda Like It

Chapter 1

I Kinda Like It

When I was a boy,
I used to think kissing was gross.
Now I'm a little older,
I guess I kinda like it.
I used to think girlfriends were for sandwiches,
Dad said mum left because we ran out of bread.
Now I'm a little older I like to have someone,
Ah, I guess I kinda like it.

When I was little,
I used to think that loving someone was weird.
Now that I'm older I understand it's more,
And I guess I kinda like it.
I used to think that only parents could love,
I used to think that love was a family thing,
Now that I'm older, I met you, I doubt we're related,
I guess I kinda like it.

When I was a kid,
I used to cry until I screamed,
I used to dream of losing things I'd already lost,
But now I realize they're gone.
Let me tell you something,
I hope you never leave,
So I'll never wake up screaming,
I guess I kinda like you.

I used to think I was trapped with dad,
Yeah you know what he's like.
But now I'm older,
I realize I can help you get away.
I used to wish on full moons,
Just to meet someone who could love me as much as mum did.
Then you came along and you saved my life,
Now let me save yours.
I kinda like it,
I don't want to lose my best friend.
I kinda like you,
I don't want it to ever end.
I kinda love it,
The way you worry about me.
I kinda love you,
Why can't you see?
